Biografy

Lida Lamy

I was born in Montreal, Québec in Canada and graduated at Concordia University in Business Administration with a Marketing specialisation. I have always been fascinated with travelling and doing so I discovered to have a passion for the hotel industry. My first experience was at the Jasper Park Lodge in Jasper, Alberta, one of the most beautiful and luxurious resort of the “then” Canadian Pacific Hotels & Resorts, now part of the Fairmont Hotel Chain.

 

This experience brought me to Geneva in Switzerland where I worked as Rooms Division Manager in one of the top 7 hotels in the city. My manageriale experience in the industry opened up another great opportunity for me,  I collaborated with the Hewlett Packard European Division office in Geneva where I was responsable for organising events as well as  international conventions.

My dream to live in Italy, where part of my ancestors come from, more precisely from Pachino (Sr) and Pozzallo (Rg) in Sicily, comes true with my move in Tuscany. My experience brought me to teaching Marketing and Hotel Management courses, organised by the Tuscan Region and other important associations such as Confindustria and Confcommercio of Pistoia. I had become a reference in the local tourism market when I was offered to start up a new hotel in Pistoia as Managing Director.

After several years, I decided with my husband to make a complete change in our lives and moved to Sicily, in Marzamemi (SR). I had always dreamed to open my own B&B and that time had finally come and it is named “MaNanna”…

Biografy

Giuseppe Argentino

Chef Giuseppe Argentino’s native home is Marzamemi (SR). After finishing his studies in the hotel business school, he started his career in important restaurants and luxury hotels in Italy, more precisely in the Sicilian, Trentino, Ligurian and Tuscan regions as well as other important European cities such as Montecarlo, Lugano and Geneva in Switzerland.

On his return to Italy, he started to follow a special program dedicated to the im-provement of the healthy aspects of the culinary concept, collaborating with famous wellness and spa centres in Italy, a philosophy that links nutrition, health and well-ness, flanked by nutritionists and industry experts .

He is part of most prestigious Italian and European associations, he participated during the course of his career to important contests such as the Olympics of Culinary Arts in Germany, where he won a bronze medal, and the World Championship of Culinary & Gastronomy in Luxembourg, reaching third place. In his career he has received important awards for having carried out projects and promoting quality Italian cuisine in the world, one of which the “Collegium Cocorum” at the Campidoglio “City Hall” in Rome in 2011.

Giuseppe Argentino collaborated with several magazines and has appeared in several television shows such as ” TG2 Salute”, “Vita in Diretta” on Raiuno (Italian national TV) as well as taught the Art of Healthy Cooking to professionals and non professionals.

Over the years, he perfectioned his art of cooking in a healthier and genuine cuisine with the help and expertise of nutritionists in the Wellness & SPA industry.

His philisophy of a modern and contemporary cuisine is all about respecting the
quality and the organic properties of the products and transform them into sumptuous dishes that transmit emotions to the guests.
